The idea of a group of women talking intergenerationally is an exciting premise. Young mothers interact with grandmothers and share wisdom, stories, and the changes that are part of contemporary child-rearing. Photographs from childhood and the journeys they tell of other faraway lives became links to dislocation, relocation, and transformation around our long art table each week.
The women wrote in their sketchbooks, sketched, painted, collaged, listened to poetry, looked at artworks and found friendship in the making of each new page of their accordion books.
