MAMC joyfully engaged with young Spanish-speaking people who recently arrived mostly from Mexico, and some from Ecuador, fleeing violence and homophobia. Art was a vibrant means of self-expression for this group beginning a new life away from their families and place of birth. As music enveloped the creative space, drawings and paintings emerged.
Rich stories and friendships were forged in this safe and welcoming place as we connected each week.
