Faces and Places of Thorncliffe Park: An Intergenerational Project
Exploring Identity, Place, and Belonging
A collaboration between The Neighbourhood Organisation (TNO) and Making Art Making Change (MAMC)
Over eight inspiring weeks, Faces and Places of Thorncliffe Park brought together community members to explore what makes Thorncliffe Park a vibrant community through art making. From shared memories of the racetrack and ski jump to stories of daily life in high-rises, parks, prayer spaces, and libraries, participants mapped out the rich tapestry of their neighbourhood.
Making Art Making Change facilitated the development of a creative community.—Many discovered their inner artist for the first time. The work reflects not only the places that define Thorncliffe Park, but the faces who bring it to life: youth, seniors, food bank volunteers, TNO staff, and all who make this community so dynamic.
